Although Kapiti School will be following the Kenya National Curriculum, we plan to also make it a leading centre for Forest and Wildlife Conservation Training.
This is because the school will be located in an area that still has wildlfe trapped in-between new human settlements and also because there are no schools in Kenya that teach a full conservation course at either primary or secondary levels. Every learning institution is known for something that it does very well. This could be excellent academic results, sporting achievement, out-door pursuit, musical productions etc. We want Kapiti school to be known as a leader in Nature and Wildlife Conservation Studies.
The ongoing human encroachment on wildlife areas and the destruction of water catchment zones such as mountains and rivers has been a major cause of concern for the future of wildlife in Kenya. This is made worse by the rising cases of poaching in the parks.A big number of wildlife is now stranded having been caught between former grazing areas and the fast spreading unplanned human settlements.
The numbers of lions, elephants, leopards, rhinos. giraffes and cheetahs in Kenya are declining at an alarming rate. We hope we can help reverse this trend through educating students from different schools (through student visits to our centre).
By supporting the establishment of Kapiti School , you will also be supporting the building of a Conservation Centre as a major part of the school's curriculum.

Our plan to have a self-funding school in future is supported by a recent UN report on EFFECT OF AID SHORTFALLS ON EDUCATION IN AFRICA. Click here to read report.
